VIAGRA Information:

Description of the active ingredient

VIAGRA contains the active ingredient sildenafil which is a PDE5 inhibitor. PDE5 inhibitors relax blood vessels, allowing more blood to flow into the penis, and thereby help achieve and maintain an erection. It works by blocking the enzyme phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5). PDE5 is responsible for breaking down cGMP (cyclic guanosine monophosphate), a molecule that relaxes blood vessels and increases blood flow. VIAGRA relaxes the smooth muscle cells in the penis, allowing more blood into the area during sexual stimulation. VIAGRA may help men with erectile dysfunction achieve and maintain an erection when sexually aroused. This medicine is a prescription drug and must be used under the guidance of a health care provider. VIAGRA is a prescription medication and must be taken under the supervision of a health care provider. The recommended dosage of VIAGRA for an adult man is 50 mg taken orally about one hour before sexual activity. Dosage for an adult adult may vary based on individual needs and medical conditions. The usual recommended dose for treating erectile dysfunction is 2.5 mg taken orally about one hour before sexual activity. The maximum recommended dosing frequency for treating erectile dysfunction is once per day. VIAGRA should be used only as prescribed by your doctor. Do not increase or decrease the dosage of VIAGRA without first talking to your health care provider. The most common side effects of VIAGRA may include headache, flushing, upset stomach, muscle pain, and nasal congestion. It may take one tablet of VIAGRA to get the maximum benefit from the medication. However, it is important to note that VIAGRA may cause a sudden decrease in sex drive, and this may occur even after you stop taking the medicine. If you experience any serious side effects, you should seek medical attention immediately.

VIAGRA

Generic name:sildenafil

Drug class:Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug

INDICATIONS

VIAGRA is indicated for the treatment of:

- migraine headache.

- headache.

- inflammation of the optic nerve of the eye.

- blurred vision.

- visual disorders.

USES

Pharmacologic action:

VIAGRA is a combination drug of vardenafil and dapoxetine. It is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI).

Mechanism of action:

VIAGRA is a member of the class of drugs known as serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs).

Pharmacokinetics:

The plasma concentration is approximately half that of vardenafil in plasma. The half-life is about 3 to 6 hours. The drug is eliminated primarily by hepatic metabolism. It is mainly excreted in urine. The plasma half-life of vardenafil is about 2 to 5 hours. Vardenafil is excreted into urine, feces, and urine products. The half-life of dapoxetine is about 6 hours. VIAGRA is metabolized primarily by the CYP3A4 enzyme system. VIAGRA will not be metabolized by the CYP3A4 enzyme system.

Administration:

The oral dose and frequency are based on the response to the drug. The drug should be taken on an empty stomach or after a light meal. It is best to take the drug at the same time every day. In patients with hepatic impairment, the oral dose should be doubled to 2.5 to 5 mg/kg (about 60 mg/day) in one day.

Treatment:

The treatment should be initiated at a dose of 3 mg/kg/day. The oral dose should be given with meals. The dose should be reduced gradually to 5 mg/kg/day in patients with mild to moderate hepatic impairment. It is not recommended to increase the dose to 10 mg/kg/day in patients with severe hepatic impairment. Treatment should be started with the lowest effective dose, then gradually increased according to the response to the drug. The treatment should be continued for a minimum of 3 days in patients with moderate to severe hepatic impairment.

Safety and effectiveness:

The pharmacokinetics of vardenafil, dapoxetine, and their metabolites have been studied in 24 healthy male volunteers. They were given orally one time each of vardenafil 10 mg, 60 mg, and 100 mg (three times daily). The volunteers were divided into three groups:

- Group A (n=6) - Dose was increased to 5 mg/kg every other day for 1 day (40 mg/day), to 6 mg/kg every other day for 3 days (40 mg/day), and to 10 mg/kg every other day for 4 days (100 mg/day).

Group B (n=6) - Dose was increased to 10 mg/kg every other day for 1 day (40 mg/day), to 6 mg/kg every other day for 3 days (40 mg/day), and to 10 mg/kg every other day for 4 days (100 mg/day).

Group C (n=6) - Dose was increased to 10 mg/kg every other day for 1 day (40 mg/day), to 6 mg/kg every other day for 3 days (40 mg/day), and to 10 mg/kg every other day for 4 days (100 mg/day).

In this study, the mean plasma vardenafil concentration was 0.08 mg/L (range 0.02 to 0.22 mg/L). Mean oral doses of vardenafil and dapoxetine were 7.1 and 18.3 mg, respectively.

Sildenafil is the most widely prescribed ED therapy, with many doctors reporting positive results. The medication’s active ingredient is sildenafil citrate, which means it works in the same way as Viagra does on the other hand, only it relaxes the blood vessels in the penis, increasing blood flow and causing an erection.

The most common side effects include dizziness, headache, flushing, and nasal congestion. In rare cases, sildenafil can cause a sudden vision or hearing loss. This is more common when taking sildenafil tablets rather than Viagra.

The UK’s O2B classification system defines the medication as a PDE5 inhibitor (phosphodiesterase type 5) which helps to relax the blood vessels in the penis. The drug relaxes the blood vessels in the penis, which increases blood flow and helps to achieve and maintain an erection. Sildenafil is only available in tablet form, so it is not recommended for people who have difficulty swallowing tablets. The medication is available in daily dose and can be taken with or without food.

Who is at risk of sildenafil overdose?

Sildenafil is an ED medication used to treat impotence, chest pain, and impotence related to sexual stimulation. It is also prescribed off-label to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), high blood pressure in the arteries of the lungs, and Raynaud’s phenomenon (a sudden, severe, painful erection lasting more than four hours, often requiring immediate medical attention).

Sildenafil is not recommended for people with heart problems, low blood pressure, or a family history of heart problems. It can also interact with other medications, so it is important to talk to your doctor about all the medications you take.

How should I take Sildenafil tablets?

The recommended dose of Sildenafil is 50mg taken about an hour before sexual activity. The tablet should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. However, if you miss a dose and it is close to your next scheduled time, take it as soon as you remember, and do not take two doses at one sitting.

Can I take Sildenafil tablets with food?

Yes, you can take Sildenafil with or without food. However, it is important to avoid fatty meals that contain fat. These fatty meals should be avoided if taking Sildenafil, as they may increase the risk of side effects.

If you take Sildenafil alongside alcohol, it can reduce its effectiveness and increase side effects. However, avoid alcohol and heavy meals high in fat, as this can increase the risk of side effects.

If you take Sildenafil tablets alongside a drink of water, avoid it. It is important to avoid large or fatty foods, such as sodas, chocolate, and coffee. Sildenafil should be used with caution if you drink large amounts of alcohol while taking this medication, as excessive alcohol intake can diminish its effectiveness and increase the risk of side effects.

If you are taking Sildenafil daily, your doctor will monitor your blood pressure and should check your blood pressure at regular intervals.

What are the side effects of Sildenafil?

Sildenafil is a PDE5 inhibitor, meaning it relaxes the blood vessels in the penis. This increases blood flow, making an erection an easy or difficult task.
